All the drinks with a distillate + ginger ale/beer + citrus were called historically Buck.
When vodka was introduced in the north-American market, the manufacturers commercialised the Vodka Buck, and in a smart play they called Moscow Mule. This successful combination has made a great revival and the Buck nomenclature has been losing in the popular bar culture.
Mostly now Mule is used to describe the drinks with a distillate+ginger ale+ citrus (as for instance our great Moscow Mule).
The Tennessee Buck cocktail combines in a fun way Jack Daniel’s (heart of Tennessee) with ginger beer o ginger ale and lemon juice. To make it even more attractive some drops of bitter Angostura, a pinch of sugar and crushed strawberry are added. All together is a party of very refreshing flavours and with all the character of the Tennessee whiskey surrounded by the spiciness of ginger.
Tennessee whiskey is a protected denomination for an American-type whiskey. Its particularity is that uses a filtering process called Licoln County Process, through which the whiskey is filtered through a thin maple charcoal layer before being deposited on the barrels for aging. This process confers to this whiskey a distinctive and unique flavour.
Our formula for Tennessee Buck is inspired by the recipe created in 2009 by the renowned barman Erick Castro in Bourbon & Branch, San Francisco, USA.
