This great cocktail contains two products with lots of history: Chambord and Baileys.
Chambord Liqueur Royale de France is a liqueur made in the Loire Valley in France. His first reference dates back to 1685 when King Louis XIV visited the magnificent Chambord Castle and was supposedly one of his favorite liqueurs.
The Chambord is made with red and black raspberries, honey, Madagascar vanilla and cognac. In its preparation, the black and red raspberries are mixed by an infusion process and thus achieving a very concentrated base.
Later this mixture passes through a second infusion where the flavors of the two raspberries are captured. To finish, this infusion is mixed with cognac, vanilla extracts from Madagascar, Moroccan citrus peels, honey and a touch of aromatic herbs.
The liquor has an intense purple red color. Being totally natural, without preservatives, it must be consumed before six months after its overture. It has a content of 16.5% alcohol by volume.
The mixture of cream and whiskey is what made Baileys so special and distinguished, given that in its elaboration they discovered a formula to combine it so that they did not have to use preservatives and the cream is preserved only for alcohol, which gives the Definitive taste so natural and pleasant. The final touch in its elaboration is given by flavors such as chocolate, caramel and vanilla.
Thanks to its special formula, Baileys was the first liquor to combine cream and alcohol in a mixture stable enough to be marketed. It was introduced in the market in 1974, being the first Irish cream liqueur: it has a shelf life of 24 months, it has to be stored between 5 and 35 ° C and it has 17% of alcoholic volume.
