Tennessee and much more
At the rhythm of Country, Blues and Rock and Roll we discovered Tennessee. The soundtrack of the United States and one of the most visited destinations for the incredible beauty of its national parks and the flavors of its cuisine. At the big food festivals, we will lose our soul, especially in Lynchburg, where the most important barbecue championship is held.
To accompany these pleasures, nothing better than the authentic Lynchburg Lemonade.
The Lynchburg Lemonade is a very refreshing and addictive Long drink cocktail, created in 1980 by Anthony Mason, owner of the Alabama restaurant, located in Lynchburg County, the same place where Jack Daniel’s distillery is located.
Controversial recipe
The controversy arose a few years later when Mason himself sued Jack Daniel’s distillery claiming representatives of the company had stolen his formula. They came to his establishment to copy the recipe based on repeated requests. Jack Daniel’s distillery created a campaign to promote the Lynchburg Lemonade and Mason’s claim for damages was $13 million. The judge ruled in Mason’s favour, but without awarding him any financial compensation.
The popularity of the “discord cocktail” grew unstoppably throughout the country.
